The Indiana University Northwest RedHawk cheerleading squad will hold a cheerleading clinic for prospective cheerleaders on Friday, May 1, from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Savannah Gymnasium, then will hold open tryouts for the 2009-10 cheerleading team on Saturday, May 2, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
All students interested in trying out for the squad must attend the May 1 preparation clinic. This will help participants hone their skills for the next day's tryouts. Check-in for the clinic begins at 4 p.m.
Participants will be required to learn a floor cheer, two to three sideline cheers, the IU fight song, and a short dance routine. Tumbling and stunting skills will also be evaluated.
