IU Northwest SAAB chapter to host author, retired NFL running back Robert Jackson on March 3

Former Minnesota Vikings player to discuss his book, 'No More Excuses: Black Men Stand Up!'

On Tuesday, March 3, at 5:30 p.m., the Indiana University Northwest Student African American Brotherhood (SAAB) will host a presentation by former Minnesota Vikings running back Robert Jackson, author of the book "No More Excuses: Black Men Stand Up!" The community is invited to this free event, which will be held in the Library Conference Center Room 105. Call the SAAB office at (219) 980-6738 for more information.

Jackson, a motivational speaker, will address the issues that face African-American men today, the excuses that some men use to avoid tackling these concerns, and the ways in which they can stand up to meet their challenges and responsibilities in a positive and successful way. Jackson is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the National Black MBA Association, and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), among other organizations.

The IU Northwest SAAB chapter also includes members from the Ivy Tech Gary campus, and it is the only dual chapter out of approximately 180 SAAB chapters nationwide. SAAB is an organization that brings together college students of color with their peers and mentors to provide them with knowledge, insight, assistance, and encouragement as they work toward personal, academic and professional goals.
