Indiana University Northwest students whose parents are members of the IU Alumni Association (IUAA) are eligible for at least one of 28 scholarships, worth $1,000 each, that are available through the IUAA Scholars program this year. Now in its 15th year, IUAA Scholars provides one guaranteed scholarship for a student from each of IUís eight campuses, with the remaining scholarships being awarded on an at-large basis. The deadline for application is April 3.
The IUAA Scholars program is funded with revenue from the IU Collegiate License Plate Program. In 2007, more than 40,000 plates were sold, making the IU plate the most popular collegiate license plate in Indiana. For more information, visit the Web at http://alumni.indiana.edu/services/license/.
IU Northwest encourages all eligible students to apply for this excellent scholarship program sponsored by the IU Alumni Association. One eligible IU Northwest student is guaranteed to receive a $1,000 scholarship, and additional winners from this campus are also possible. If there are no applicants from a particular campus, or if the applicants do not meet the criteria, that campusís scholarship will be added to the at-large scholarship pool.
The IUAA scholarships will be awarded on the basis of financial need and academic achievement as determined by the Office of Student Information and Fiscal Services. Financial need will be determined from the information provided by the student and the studentsí parents on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms. The FAFSA information must be released by the family to Indiana University.
For more information on the IUAA Scholars program, or to submit an online application, visit the Web at http://alumni.indiana.edu/services/scholarships/iuaascholars/index.shtml Applications must be returned to the IUAA no later than April 3.
