IU Northwest goes ‘on the road’ to East Chicago on Thursday, Nov. 13

Prospective students may meet Chancellor Bergland, learn about new programs, or apply for admission

As part of its annual autumn outreach to Northwest Indiana’s prospective students, Indiana University Northwest will host an ‘on the road’ event Nov. 13 at the main branch of the East Chicago Library, at 2401 E. Columbus Drive, beginning at 6 p.m. Current high school students and prospective non-traditional students and their families are invited to come out and learn about all the exciting programs and opportunities that are available at IU’s Northwest Indiana campus!

IU Northwest Chancellor Bruce Bergland will join faculty, students, admissions counselors and alumni in greeting visitors and explaining to them the many educational benefits that the university has to offer, including undergraduate and graduate programs, athletics, a myriad of student clubs and activities, service-learning opportunities, and more!

Prospective students may meet with admissions counselors, learn about financial aid opportunities, and even apply for admission on site. Students interested in applying for admission should bring official high school or college transcripts, proof of SAT or ACT scores (if less than one year out of high school), and a $25 application fee.

The IU Northwest “On the Road in East Chicago” event will run from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. RSVPs are encouraged but not mandatory. Please call (219) 980-6823 to RSVP or for more information.

Also, on Monday, Nov. 10, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m., IU Northwest will host an open house at the Portage Instructional Site, located at 5916 U.S. 6. On-site admission will also be available with a $25 application fee. Potential applicants should bring official high school or college transcripts and SAT/ACT scores if they are less than one year out of high school.

The Portage Instructional Site is a convenient off-campus location where students, particularly Porter County students, may take some of their required courses closer to home. IU Northwest is pleased to welcome prospective students to the Portage site to learn about the programs and opportunities the university has to offer.

For more information, or to RSVP for the Nov. 10 open house, contact the Portage Instructional Site at (219) 763-2903.
