23rd Annual IU Northwest Gala set for Nov. 6 at Avalon Manor

IU Foundation President Gene Tempel will give keynote address at yearly thank-you event for university donors and supporters

Indiana University Northwest will thank its supporters and celebrate its successes on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the 23rd Annual IU Northwest Gala, to be held at Avalon Manor in Merrillville starting at 6 p.m.

New IU Foundation President Gene Tempel, in his first-ever visit to Northwest Indiana, will deliver the evening’s keynote remarks, and IU Northwest Chancellor Bruce Bergland will discuss the university’s myriad achievements this year and its plans for the future. The evening will also feature great food, fine wine, good conversation, and musical accompaniment provided by local composer and artist Valerie Webdell.

As a special gift for this year’s attendees, the Gala will feature caricature artists who will draw fun and memorable likenesses for any guests who would like to sit for a quick portrait. This year’s event also features wine pairing, in which assorted dishes are paired with the wines that best complement them.

IU Northwest welcomes all friends of the university to enjoy this eagerly anticipated event. Reservations are $125 each, and proceeds will be used to support university projects and scholarships. Please RSVP by Oct. 28 by calling (219) 980-6801.
