The Indiana University Northwest School of Business and Economics and the IU Northwest Business Alliance will host the 2008 Business Speaker Series Luncheon on Thursday, April 24, at the Radisson Hotel in Merrillville.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Gerry Dick, creator and host of the acclaimed business broadcast Inside Indiana Business. He will deliver an address titled, "Economic Development in Indiana and the Impact on Northwest Indiana Business." Gerry Dick serves as president and managing editor of Grow Indiana MediaVentures, LLC, an Indianapolis-based media company focused on producing and distributing Indiana business news through multiple media channels. He is also co-owner of the company, along with technology entrepreneur Scott Jones.
Gerry Dick’s television program is available on 14 network and public TV stations throughout Indiana, and 14 statewide radio stations carry his daily business reports. Inside Indiana Business news is also available through a variety of email, Web and interactive products.
Gerry Dick has been awarded Ernst and Young’s prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year award and the Journalist of the Year award by the Small Business Administration. He is a respected speaker and moderator on issues related to business and the Indiana economy, and he also serves as a business news analyst for WISH-TV and WIBC Radio in Indianapolis. His TV program has earned three Emmy nominations, and Inside Indiana Business marked its 500th broadcast in 2007.
