The Indiana University Northwest Center for Regional Excellence is pleased to invite the Northwest Indiana community to the Excellence in Research and Creativity Conference, which will be held from 8 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. on Friday, March 30 in Room 105 of the Library Conference Center, located on the IU Northwest campus at 3400 Broadway in Gary, Ind.
Topics of faculty and student presentations will include: ethnic marketing in Northwest Indiana; ethics in Lake County government; communication strategies to fight obesity; and an in-depth study of Wal-Martís business practices. These and other research projects were funded by Commitment to Excellence Funds or Lily Opportunity Grant Funds, which are awarded annually by the CRE based on faculty research proposals. The annual conference provides a venue for faculty, students and, in some cases, their community partners in these projects to present the results of their efforts to the campus and the community.
IU Northwest and the CRE encourage interested members of the campus and the community to come learn about the exciting research that is taking place at the University, research that will have a direct impact on the quality of life in Northwest Indiana.
The Excellence in Research and Creativity Conference is free and open to the public. For the conference schedule or more information on individual presentations, contact TaShena Lollis at the IU Northwest Center for Regional Excellence at (219) 981-5629.
