Exhibit will run concurrently at IU Northwest, Center for Visual and Performing Arts

As a follow-up to its groundbreaking November conference “Drawing the Lines: International Perspectives on Urban Renewal Through the Arts,” Indiana University Northwest is proud to co-host the significant international art exhibit “From Rust to Restoration: Basque Art and the Bilbao Effect.” This exhibit, which features the work of 20 Basque artists, will run concurrently at the Savannah Gallery for Contemporary Art at IU Northwest and at Center for Visual and Performing Arts in Munster.

Two public receptions are planned for this exciting cultural exhibit, which will run from Dec. 4, 2006 through Feb. 18, 2007. The first reception is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 13 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Center, located at 1040 Ridge Rd. in Munster. The second reception will follow on Thursday, Dec. 14 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Savannah Center at IU Northwest. Both events will feature music, food and drink from Spain’s Basque region.

The public is invited to attend one or both receptions. IU Northwest is pleased and honored to help host “From Rust to Restoration.” For more information, contact Ann Fritz, IU Northwest gallery curator, at (219) 980-6891.
