IU Northwest One-Dollar Used Book Sale set for Oct. 30 through Nov. 3

Thousands of titles available in fiction, non-fiction and used textbooks.

The Indiana University Northwest Anthropology Club will host its semi-annual One-Dollar Used Book Sale from Monday, Oct. 30 through Friday, Nov. 3 in the Moraine Student Center, located next to the IU Northwest Savannah Center on the Gary campus at 3400 Broadway. The sale will run from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.

The One-Dollar Used Book Sale has grown from a modest fundraiser for the club several years ago into a major event. Today, the book sale draws hundreds of people to the university, many making the drive down from Chicago. Students, faculty and community members turn out to take advantage of great deals on books of all types. Thousands of titles will be available, from popular fiction and literature to non-fiction and many used textbooks, all for $1 each. Books will be added as the week continues, so book lovers should plan for repeat visits. The proceeds raised go directly to scholarships, field-school digging experiences for students, maps and archeological artifacts for classrooms, as well as toward funding to bring guest lecturers to the campus.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information on the sale, or to donate books, please call Bob Mucci at (219) 980-6607.
