The Indiana University Northwest Gallery for Contemporary Art presents Under Indiana Skies: Jasper County, an exhibit by Rensselaer artists Abbie Parmele and John Groppe. The exhibit will open on July 17 and run through August 11. A reception with be held in honor of the artists and hosted by the gallery from 6-8 p.m. on Fri., July 21.

Gallery hours are Monday and Wednesday, 7 a.m. - 9 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Friday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. To arrange for an evening or weekend visit, call Ann Fritz, gallery director, at 219-980-6891.

This exhibit is the first of an annual showcase of regional artists, according to Myron P. Nidetz, Arts Consultant to IU Northwest Chancellor, Dr. Bruce W. Bergland. "The exhibit is a part of the university’s commitment to collaborate and cooperate with surrounding communities," Nidetz added, "and each year we will feature artists from a different county of the seven counties that comprise northwest Indiana."
