Senior nursing students will host the IU Northwest Annual Health Fair Tuesday, Nov. 15th from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the Savannah Center gymnasium. This year’s theme in "Habitat for Health" and is open to all students, staff, faculty and the community.
Free services to be provided include: blood pressure checks, bone density tests and massages. Services provided for a fee include a health profile testing ($15.95 for the public, $12.95 for faculty and staff, free for students) which consists of a lipid profile, complete metabolic profile and a hemagram profile, and flu shots ($25 the day of the fair, no charge for Medicare Part B recipients who show their card). Payments are cash or check only.
The annual health fair promotes healthy living, active lifestyles and health education that helps people make informed decisions about their personal healthcare choices. It is an excellent opportunity for those on campus and in the community to monitor their health and learn more about fighting diseases, proper nutrition, staying healthy during the flu season, and many other health-related topics.
Many campus and community groups will be participating in the health fair to provide an extensive variety of services and information.
