The Indiana University Northwest Alumni Association will hold its annual Jazz Brunch, Sunday September 18, 2005 from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Innsbrook Country Club, 6710 Taft Street , Merrillville . Cost is $30 for Alumni members, $40 for lapsed/non-members, $20 for children 12 and under.

This annual Cream and Crimson event brings together alumni, students and the community in an entertaining atmosphere. Attendees will be treated to the sounds of the Scott Pazera Quartet, while enjoying a buffet-style brunch. Various area jewelry vendors will showcase their collections, which will be available for purchase during the event.

The event is one of many sponsored by the Alumni Association every year. The northwest Indiana region is home to thousands of Indiana University alumni who are productive and active members of their communities. They share the common bond of membership in an organization that, for more than 100 years, has served communities around the world and boasts a membership of more than 400,000 worldwide.

Membership is open to anyone who wishes to join, not just graduates of Indiana University . Members enjoy discounts on trips, events, admission to IUN Redhawks games and many other university-wide activities. They also have the opportunity to meet and work with area leaders on projects and initiatives that are important to the northwest Indiana region.

The IU Northwest Alumni Association will be sponsoring various events during the coming year including: a team for Walk for Breast Cancer walk on October 18 th , a trip to Bloomington for the Indiana University homecoming, a tailgate party to the IU/Purdue game on November 19 th , the December Graduate Reception on December 15 th , and many more activities and events throughout the year.
