Watch and discuss acclaimed movie Whale Rider at IU Northwest

A viewing and discussion of the award-winning film Whale Rider will take place at Indiana University Northwest on Friday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. in the Library Conference Center, room 105A.

In this captivating and haunting tale, 12-year-old Pai must overcome powerful traditions as she tries to assume her destiny as the leader of a tribe on the New Zealand coast. Among numerous international distinctions, Whale Rider was nominated for two Academy Awards and was the winner of the 2003 Sundance Film Festival World Cinema Audience Award.
