There's still time for IU Northwest students, faculty and staff to donate children's books to show their support of the national "Make a Difference Day."
This week the Li’l Kids/Children’s Discovery Center in Hobart has collected hundreds of new and nearly-new books for the Children’s Literacy Initiative program on campus. The children will deliver the books to the Children's Literacy Initiative (CLI) office located in the Child Care Center on Friday, Oct. 24.
Li’l Kids/Children’s Discovery Center is a member of the Knowledge Learning Corporation, which organized the national book drive with support from USA Weekend Magazine. "Donating books and providing educational tips to families helps increase each child’s opportunity for literacy development," said Elanna Yalow, Ph.D., president of KLC. "It also teaches our students about the values of charity and selflessness."
