The cast has been chosen for IU Northwestís Theatre Northwest summer production of the musical "Cole." Many hopefuls from various cities around the region auditioned in May, breathing life into the classic melodies of Cole Porter. The production introduces the audience to Porter and allows a glimpse at some of his muses. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. for June 26-28 and at 2:30 p.m. on June 29.
The "Cole" cast includes: Cristina Casas, Munster; Theresa Escalante, Merrillville; Terry Harman, Crown Point; Jennifer Lundin, Hammond; Veronica Madrigal, Hobart; and Steve Westover, Valparaiso.
Devised by Alan Strachan and Benny Green, "Cole" incorporates a wealth of Porterís lyrics and music. Many of these compositions are etched into popular culture. Songs such as, "I Happen to Like New York," "Anything
Goes," "I Get a Kick Out of You," "I Love Paris," and "Itís De-Lovely" are familiar to young and old alike. All tickets are $8 and reservations can be made at (219) 980-6808.
