Now in its 20th year, the IU Northwest Kids College offers summer fun while learning for children and teens ages seven through 16.
All the courses are taught using a hands-on approach. Each year, participants say the getting to "do it themselves" is what they liked most about their Kids College experience. Kids College started in 1983 as a "fledgling program," says Joan Wolter, coordinator, but since 1989, it has tripled in size. "The finest compliment comes from the parents who entrust their children to us."
Summer Session I runs from June 23 through July 10 and Summer Session II runs from July 14 through July 31. Both sessions are held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. All classes are one hour and 15 minutes. Each course is $60. All classes have a limited enrollment and are filled by a first-come basis. Register by calling (219)980-6805 or (219) 980-6828.
