Individuals looking to advance in their careers should check out the courses in human resources management offered at IU Northwest beginning March 4.
In cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management, IU Northwest presents:
• Human Resource Fundamentals: An eight-week introductory course in human resource management developed from a growing need in the marketplace. This course will address topics such as management, employment law, compensation, orienting and training employees and ensuring quality performance. This course is held on Tuesdays at 6 – 8 p.m. from March 4 through April 22. The cost is $350.
• PHR/SPHR Certification: Human Resource Certification is the symbol of professional achievement. Certifications are intended for people who are currently working for a minimum of two years in the human resources management field. Certification exams are offered at two levels: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). The PHR exam consists of general human resources information at an operational level. The SPHR exam addresses general information at the strategic and policy level. This 10-week course for either PHR or SPHR certification is held on Tuesdays at 6 – 8 p.m. from March 4 through May 6. The cost is $450.
