Stormy Weather and the IUN Dance Company will be the featured artists in the Theatre Northwest 2002 Holiday Showcase at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2002.
Stormy Weather is a "Damon Runyon-esque quintet of Hoosiers" from the Gary/ Hammond area. They have recorded fourteen albums including the highly touted seasonal record series entitled "Street Carols". Their unique family Christmas recording titled "Doo-Wop Yule Pop" won the Institute for Childhood Resources Award as one of the "10 Best CDs of 1999". They have starred in three nationally syndicated television specials including "40th Anniversary of Rock ‘n Roll".
Stormy Weather has "doo wopped" with such diverse stars as Kenny Rogers, the Pointer Sisters, Dion, Whoopi Goldberg, Smokey Robinson and the Gatlins and have appeared in premier venues around the country including Radio City Music Hall, the Chicago Theatre and The White House. The IUN Dance Company will conclude the program with several dance pieces set to Holiday fare. All tickets are $7.00. Advance reservations can be made by calling 980-6808.
Theatre Northwest is situated on the campus of Indiana University Northwest in Tamarack Hall and is conveniently located one block South of the Broadway Exit of I 80/94 (Borman Expressway). Ample free parking is available.
