IUN Student Nurses Bring Warmth to Those in Need

The IU Northwest Student Nurses Association (SNA) recently distributed donated winter coats to St. Jude Women's Shelter, Marion Girls Home, Rainbow Shelter, Brother's Keeper and Salvation Army. Over 75 men's, women's and children's coats were collected during the drive to provide warmth for those in need. Boots, hats, scarves and winter clothing were also among the many items donated.

The Student Nurses Association is the IU Northwest chapter of the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA)and represent students in associate, diploma, baccalaureate, masters and doctoral programs that prepare students for registered nurse licensure, as well as RNs in BSN completion programs. The SNA the one of the most active student clubs on the Northwest campus and is open to nursing and prenursing students. Other projects include a pumpkin carving program with area children's agencies and food drive for local pantries. Last year the SNA initiated (and continued this year) an annual SNA nursing scholarship in the amount of $600.
