Giannini Appointed As Director of Development for IU Northwest

Effective as of April 10, Pat Giannini, former director of Public Relations and Development for Ivy Tech State College, has taken on the new appointment as Director of Development for Indiana University Northwest.

During her years at Ivy Tech State College, beginning in 1997, Giannini directed and managed the areas of public relations and development while directing and supporting the volunteer board of community business representatives to raise local funds for the college. Other responsibilities included reviewing press releases, newsletters and budget requests, directing and managing professional development opportunities to staff and faculty, and provide College representation to local business and community committees and events. Giannini also directed and promoted Ivy Tech's Annual Giving Program, Alumni Affairs, state, federal and local grants and all other Ivy Tech Foundation efforts while managing an eighteen member Foundation Development Council.

In the past 15 years, Giannini has proved to be successful through her various roles in leadership positions including Community Relations Consultant for Amoco Corporation, Senior Campaign Manager for Lake Area United Way, and Constituent Liaison for the First District Office of Congress.

Giannini received her B.S. in Public and Government Affairs and her A.S. in Public and Policy Administration from Indiana University's School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She has served her community as a member of the NWI Symphony Board, East Chicago Healthy Initiative Board, the Girl Scouts of the Calumet Council Board, and the Council for Resource Development (CRD).

Jeff Lorber, IUN Vice Chancellor for University Advancement, states, "Pat is well respected in the region and she brings a wealth of experience to our fund-raising activities as we seek external support for academic and community based initiatives. I am proud she has joined the campus community."
