IU's Research and University Graduate School (RUGS) Visits IUN

On Thursday, May 23, representatives of Indiana University's Research and University Graduate School (RUGS) will be on IU Northwest's campus from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to make presentations on topics which give the most difficulty in the grant preparation and submission process.

The RUGS staff who will be present are: Jim Becker, Director, Contract & Grant Administration, Financial Management Services; Marcia Landen, Director, Awards Coordination, Sponsored Research Services, Research & the University Graduate School; Steven A. Martin, Assistant Vice President for Research, Research & the University Graduate School; and Teresa Miller, Director of Proposal Review, Sponsored Research Services, Research & the University Graduate School.

The RUGS staff will discuss indirect costs, cost sharing, budget preparation, legal applicant and responsibilities, gift vs. grant, the routing process, and project management.

Following the presentations, breakout sessions between departments working on grants will be held. If individuals have questions about their grant, RUGS would like to schedule time for questions to be answered.

This event is co-sponsored by IUN's Office of Sponsored Programs and the Office of Vice Chancellor for Information Technology. Individuals are invited and encouraged to participate in the lecture. For reservations or to submit presentation topics in advance, please e-mail the Office of Sponsored Programs at grants@iun.edu.
