IU Northwest faculty host live videoconference on school violence prevention

The School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) and the School of Education at IU Northwest will serve as site facilitators for an upcoming national satellite videoconference.

The 2-hour videoconference, "School-Wide Education for Violence Prevention," will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 12:30 p.m. 2:30 p.m. CDT in the Library Conference Center, Room 105 A&B on campus.

"School-wide Education for Violence Prevention," will highlight several strategies for school-wide education that have been used in programs that have been determined effective for violence prevention.

The conference is sponsored by the Hamilton Fish Institute and its consortium partners and is administered by the George Washington University Institute for Education Policy Studies. A member of the SPEA Criminal Justice faculty will serve as site moderator.

The program is free and open to the public. Space is limited, and advance reservations are required. Reservations may be made by calling the School of Public & Environmental Affairs at (219) 980-6695 no later than April 9.
