Three IU Northwest Faculty Honored for Excellence in Teaching

Three Indiana University Northwest faculty members were recently announced as recipients of the prestigious Indiana University Faculty Colloquium on Excellence in Teaching (FACET) awards. The awards are presented to IU faculty statewide who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to teaching by serving as catalysts to students and colleagues, having the capacity for self-evaluation, preparing and presenting creative coursework, skillfully integrating instruction, research and scholarship, and by their influence and impact on student learning.

Indiana University Northwestís Dr. Jon Becker, professor in the Department of Mathematics and Director of Developmental Math; Geoff Schultz, lecturer in the Division of Education; and Dr. Roberta Wollons, professor in the Department of History and Chair of the Department of History were among the faculty members in the IU system that received the excellence in teaching distinction for the year 2002.

They will attend the 14th Annual FACET retreat in Bloomington and will be honored before a group of university administrators, trustees, FACET alumni and special guests.
