The Northwest Environmental Justice Partnership at IU Northwest is holding a series of educational workshops in March. The workshops will cover the roots of the environmental justice movement, the goals of the movement, and who is affected by environmental Amnijustices.
Additional information on researching demographics, information to argue for environmental justice, census data, defining the area of concern, the sizes of census areas, researching race and ethnicity data, researching income data, and building alliances will be discussed.
This educational workshop is a prelude to an upcoming public forum on the CDF scheduled to be erected in the city of East Chicago. This public forum will be held on Saturday, April 20 at the Indiana University Northwest Savannah Center Auditorium. More information to come.
The two workshops will be held on Saturday, March 9 in Hawthorn Hall, room 107 at 9:00 a.m. Presentations will be made by Ric Urrutia of the nationally known Sugarlaw Center of Detroit, Michigan. For more information on the workshops, contact Earl Jones at (219) 980-6704.
