Indiana University Northwest's Office of Career Services recently awarded its First Employer of the Year Award to UPS for its outstanding job placement of current IUN students.
In 2000, IUN partnered with UPS to help provide students with part-time positions while offering tuition assistance and medical benefits.
UPS' "Brown Bucks" program, formerly the "Earn and Learn" program was designed to promote higher education while creating a more stable part-time workforce for students. Historically, by targeting the "college" population, UPS has had a tremendous turnover guaranteeing their company at least 1-4 years commitment from students.
Among the 40 institutions UPS is affiliated with, IUN has provided the most "part-time supervisor" candidates including Derick Thielbar and Jason Skurow.
"UPS has done an excellent job in creating employment and educational opportunities for those students who may not have been able to previously take advantage of a college education," Christine Corral, Director of Career Services at IUN.
