(GARY, IN) -- Indiana University Northwest will host its 16th Annual Scholarship Gala Tuesday, December 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel in Merrillville. 

 The scholarship gala provides an opportunity to not only honor and recognize some of Northwest Indiana's brightest and hardest working students, but to show appreciation to the donor organizations and individuals who contribute to IUN's scholarship programs.  

With the help of individuals, civic groups, alumni, businesses, and philanthropic organizations, IU Northwest makes a significant investment in intellectual capital and human potential by offering these scholarships to its brightest students. 

To help fulfill the educational needs of students, IU Northwest offers more than 50 types of scholarships.  The university is awarding approximately $500,000 in scholarships to almost 500 students this academic year.
