Former Indiana University Northwest professor of Nursing,  C. Hazel Malone, recently received the Indiana State Nurses Association 2001 Honorary Recognition Award for her exemplary nursing leadership through her participation in the Association. 

Malone retired from the Indiana University Northwest School of Nursing with Emerita status and served many different roles for 30 years while on the faculty.  As an active and committed member of the Indiana State Nurses Association, Malone served the Association as Treasurer twice, as Second Vice President, as a delegate to the American Nurses Association, as chairperson or member of numerous committees and task forces and, most recently, as Chairperson of the Task Force on Special Interest Forums.  

As the recipient of an Honorary Recognition Award, Malone received the Indiana State Nurses Associationís highest honor.
Her loyalty in community organizations, and her commitments to the development and recognition of the profession of nursing make her an outstanding recipient of the award.
