The Criminal Justice Department at Indiana University Northwest has partnered with the Lake County Community Prosecutors Office and local police departments to conduct surveys from local residents in an effort to combat crime and improve the quality of life.
Tuesday, November 13, IU Northwest students from various Criminal Justice research classes and the Lake County Community Prosecutorsí Office Community Advocate Program will conduct all-day surveys at Franklin School in Gary and in the surrounding neighborhoods. IU Northwest has been conducting surveys in these neighborhoods since 1999 and will continue to do so in the years to come.
"Our goal is the safety of our children who are the future leaders of tomorrow," Tawana Pruitt, President of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) Student Association.
