The Indiana University Northwest Institute of Innovative Leadership created a series of effective workshops to help build leadership skills. Part of the series includes Resolving Conflicts, a workshop that allows individuals to establish a sense of contentment and balance in their current place of employment, home and personal life. Resolving Conflicts creates "win-win" outcomes, enables individuals to deal more effectively with complex situations and people, and helps balance competing needs. "Realistically, there is not a right or wrong in conflicts, itís the process of the resolution thatís important," Michele Frey, workshop attendee. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, October 3 from 8 a.m. to noon in the Indiana University Northwest Library Conference Center. Dan Lowery, professor in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, will present Resolving Conflicts. The cost to attend is $50. To register or for more information, telephone (219) 981-5631, fax (219) 981-5635, or e-mail Joann Metts at jmetts@iun.edu. |
