Indiana University is now offering exciting opportunities in assisting people to advance their career in Human resources, become more effective managers, and succeed in their workplace.
The Northwest Indiana Chapter of Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) will work with IU Northwest as partners in the 8-week HR Fundamentals Course and the 10-week Certification Courses.
"If you look at some HR position openings, more and more organizations are including these certifications in job qualifications," says Dawn Kesic, Director of the Center for Management Development. "This certification is nationally recognized and would certainly give a person holding the certification more credibility. Human Resource Certification is the symbol of professional achievement. Beyond experience and education, the PHR or SPHR designation signifies that you have mastered the HR body of knowledge."
The HR Fundamental Course covers the essentials of human resource management, basis of compensation, employment law in the workplace, effective recruitment and selection techniques, orienting and training employees, and ensuring quality performance.
Certification exams are offered at two levels, Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in HR (SPHR), and are intended for people who have two years experience and currently work in the HR Management Field.
To register for the HR Fundamental Course, Certification Course, contact the IU Northwest Center for Management Development at (219) 980-6862 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
