IU Northwest Offers Fitness Instructor Training in Munster
Individuals interested becoming a fitness instructor professional can begin the process by taking fitness instructor training at Community Hospital's Fitness Pointe in Munster. The class, offered through Indiana University Northwest's Adult Education Program will be on Tuesdays from March 13 through May 22 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Taught by professionals of Community Hospital, the course offers lectures on anatomy, physiology, exercise selection and safety, nutrition, injury prevention, how to teach, where to get certified, and job skills. Students will also have a choice of taking either the personal trainer or aerobics instructor practicum.

After completing the course students are able to take certification tests through recognized accrediting agencies, however CPR training is also required for certification. The American Red Cross will offer CPR training to interested students during the last class for an additional fee of $32.
