IU Northwest Chancellor Announces New Division and Vice Chancellor
Jeff Lorber Begins Term as Vice Chancellor for University Advancement

Indiana University Northwest Chancellor "" Bruce W. Bergland welcomed Jeff Lorber, the new Vice Chancellor for University Advancement to the campus this week, while officially announcing the newly formed division Lorber will lead. The Division for University Advancement is a merge between two separate offices formally known as the Office of External Affairs and the Office of Marketing and Communications. The new division will encompass the offices of development, alumni, marketing and communications.

"Jeff's broad-based experience shows he will be very effective in pulling together this newly formed division," says Dr. Bergland. "The division itself will be very important to the long-range success of pursuing our Shared Vision."

Lorber comes to IU Northwest from the University of Tennessee (UT) where he served as Director of Development for the College of Engineering. Among his achievements is the coordination of the largest gift made to UT in its history, a software gift valued at more than $47 million. Prior to his service at UT, Lorber served as Director of University Development at Northern Illinois University, and as Director of Major Gifts at Butler University in Indianapolis.

"I am very excited about Jeff's presence at IU Northwest. His commitment to education is evidenced by the high level accomplishments he has made," says Dr. Bergland. "He is an excellent person to work with, and he will fit in well at the university - and in Northwest Indiana."

Currently an Ed.D. candidate in educational administration and policy affairs at UT, Lorber has a MS in college student personnel from Western Illinois University, and a BA in communications and public relations from the University of Northern Iowa. He is residing in Schererville with his family.
