IU Northwest Chancellor Announces New Division and Vice Chancellor
Jeff Lorber Begins Term as Vice Chancellor for University Advancement

Bruce W. Bergland welcomed
Jeff Lorber, the new Vice Chancellor for University Advancement to the
campus this week, while officially announcing the newly formed division
Lorber will lead. The Division for University Advancement is a merge between
two separate offices formally known as the Office of External Affairs and
the Office of Marketing and Communications. The new division will encompass
the offices of development, alumni, marketing and communications.
"Jeff's broad-based experience shows he will be very effective in pulling
together this newly formed division," says Dr. Bergland. "The division
itself will be very important to the long-range success of pursuing our
Shared Vision."

Lorber comes to IU Northwest from the University
of Tennessee (UT) where he served as Director of Development for the
College of Engineering. Among his achievements is the coordination of the
largest gift made to UT in its history, a software gift valued at more
than $47 million. Prior to his service at UT, Lorber served as Director
of University Development at Northern Illinois
University, and as Director of Major Gifts at Butler
University in Indianapolis.
"I am very excited about Jeff's presence at IU Northwest. His commitment
to education is evidenced by the high level accomplishments he has made,"
says Dr. Bergland. "He is an excellent person to work with, and he will
fit in well at the university - and in Northwest Indiana."
Currently an Ed.D. candidate in educational administration and policy
affairs at UT, Lorber has a MS in college student personnel from Western
Illinois University, and a BA in communications and public relations
from the University of Northern
Iowa. He is residing in Schererville with his family. |
