Classes in Medical Transcription and Medical Coding are being offered in the evening during the spring semester at Indiana University Northwest. Both fields present career opportunities in the workforce today. Offered by the Division of Allied Health on Thursday evenings from 4 to 7 p.m., the Medical Transcription course will address word processing and transcription of medical reports, and correspondence related to the medical record.
Medical Coding offers the knowledge to work in medical billing environments
such as a physician’s office, health care clinic or billing center. The
course is scheduled for Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. More

Spring semester registration is January 3 and 4. Late registration will run from January 6 through January 12, with classes beginning on January 6. IU Northwest is accredited by the North Central Association (NCA) and offers degrees and certificate programs in Allied Health, Arts and Sciences, Business and Economics, Continuing Studies, Dental Education, Education, Labor Studies, Medical Education, Nursing, Public and Environmental Affairs, and Social Work.
