Dr. Ada Azodo of Munster met with over 3000 French teachers from aroundthe world recently at a combined convention of the American Associationof Teachers of French (AATF) and the10th Congress of the Federation Internationale des Professeurs de Francais(FIPF) in Paris.
A French professor for Indiana UniversityNorthwestís Department of ModernLanguages, Azodo was an active participant in this unique gatheringwith more than 700 American teachers of French, and 2500 teachers of Frenchfrom over 120 countries.During the event, over 350 sessions and workshopswere offered on literature, culture, linguistics, and pedagogy.
A member of AATF, Azodo has a Ph.D. and an MA in French from the Universityof Lagos in Nigeria. She also has a BA in French from the University ofIfe, also in Nigeria. The AATF was founded in 1927 and is the largest nationalassociation of French teachers in the world with approximately 10,000 members.Its website is at www.aatf.utsa.edu.
