Information on how to access financial support for strengthening grassrootsorganizations working on environmental issues will be presented duringa two-hour workshop at Indiana UniversityNorthwest on March 28 from 2 to 4 p.m.
Presenting the outreach workshop is Ressie Walker, manager of the Leadershipand Enhanced Assistance Program at the Environmental Support Center (ESC)in Washington, DC. Since 1990, the ESC has helped to build organizationaleffectiveness of over 1300 grassroots organizations. Walker, who has over20 years experience in the nonprofit and public sector as a grant writerand administrator will discuss how to deal with limited or no funds, mediasupport, computer training, record keeping and other issues necessary fororganizational growth.
Hosted by the IU Northwest Environmental Justice Center and the GrandCal Task Force, the workshop will be in the new IU Northwest Academic ActivitiesBuilding, Seminar Room 202-203. Funded by the U.S. Environmental ProtectionAgency (EPA) Community and UniversityPartnership Grant, the workshop is free and open to interested communitymembers.
