The Urban Teacher Education Program (UTEP)at Indiana University Northwest is offeringscholarship opportunities for 30 individuals who are interested in becomingan Urban Career Ladder Incentive Program (UCLIP) scholar.
Applications are now being accepted for UCLIP scholars, and are opento undergraduate students and graduates interested in teaching science,math, special education, or bilingual education in an urban setting. Individualswho hold an initial license are not eligible.
Made possible through a grant from the U.S.Department of Education, the UCLIP Teach or Pay scholarshipis available to students with an overall GPA of 3.0 or better. Studentswho meet both program and grant requirements, and are enrolled at IU Northwestare eligible.
Scholarships will range from $1000 to approximately $2000 per semesterdepending on undergraduate or graduate status, as well as part-time orfull-time status. Additional funds are available for approved summer courses.The scholarships are intended to assist the student with tuition, fees,books, supplies, childcare, and other miscellaneous expenses such as transportationand parking. Also, students will receive reimbursement up to $150 for achievingState of Indiana passing scores on non admission Praxis exams.
