Indiana University Northwest willhost a community celebration in honor of National French Week on November8. Modernite’, Diversite’, Solidarite’: French in Northwest Indianawill offer activities and presentations from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. inthe Savannah Centeron campus. The French celebration includes guest speaker Dr. LarbiOukada, president of the Indiana Association of Teachers of ForeignLanguages and associate professor of Frenchat IUPUI. He will speak on La Francophonie,from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Other activities through the day include Guadeloupeandancers, French songs, and speakers Chancellor BruceBergland; Dr. Patricia Lorimer-Lundberg,dean of Arts and Sciences; Dr.Ada Azodo, French professor;and Dr. Randa Duvick, AATF NorthwestIndiana Chapter president. Lunch will be served and includes music,song and a cultural question and answer session. A month-long exhibitionwith a Francophone theme is open to the community in MoraineStudent Center through Nov. 24. Sponsored the IU Northwest’s department of modernlanguages, the French celebration is also part of the campus DiversityProgramming Series funded by the Office of the Chancellor.
