Indiana University Northwest offers a variety of adult education classes that focus on career development, business, computers and personal development. Without having to go through formal admissions procedures, classes are offered on the main campus and at IU Northwest off-campus sites in Portage and Schererville.
Pharmacy Technician Training, Understanding Insurance Billing and Fitness Instructor Training are among the courses offered that can help an individual develop their career. Other classes to help grow a career include Accounting Basics, Payroll Records and Procedures, Medical Terminology, Unit Secretary, Developing a Childcare Program, Early Childhood Inclusion, Image Management Consultant, Voice-Overs and Income, Coaching, Tax Practitioner Institute, and Personal Trainer Certification.
If you are in business, courses such as Hiring the Right Person, How To Deal With Difficult People, Professional Writing Skills, Supervision Workshop Writing Grant Proposals and The Essentials of Fundraising and Customer Service help develop skills that can make a positive difference in a work environment.
Computer knowledge will be even more necessary in the new millennium. From understanding computers to learning software programs and web design, to a series of graphic design courses, individuals can increase their knowledge and creativity in a world that depends greatly on technology.
