The 16th year of Indiana University Northwest’s Kid’s College is offering summer fun while learning for children and teens ages 7 through 16. Summer Session I is from June 1 - July 8 and Summer Session II is from July 12 – July 29. Both summer sessions will be on Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. All classes are one-hour and 15-minutes. Class offerings for Summer Session I include:
(Ages 9 – 12) Dance to the Beat, Art of the Pharaohs, Young Writers Club, Intro to Computers (IBM), Mapping Art Treasures, Hands-on Science, Kids College X-files, Rock Riddles (Geology), Basketball for Juniors, Medical Illustration (Part1) and Publication Design on the Mac. (Ages 13 - 16) Dance to the Beat, Primitive Folk Art for Collegians,
Study Skills for Collegians, Bones, Blood and Brains, Basketball for Collegians,
French for Collegians, Intuitive Art, Bacteria is Everywhere, On the Road:
Highway to Art, Science for the Fun of It, Coming Attractions (film
study) and Intro to Computing on IBM.
(Ages 7 –12) The World of Magic, Cheerleading, Math Power on the IBM, Primitive Folk Art for Juniors, MacGraphics for Juniors, The Night Sky, Science-Crime Busters, Medical Illustration (Part 2), “Off Broadway” and Players and Handmade Books and Cards. “Our outstanding educators encourage creativity and intellectual curiosity,” says Joan Wolter, IU Northwest Kids College Coordinator. “The goal is simple.
