Communications Week Brings in CommunityProfessionals Persons interested in mass media, public relations and performance as communication tools are invited to Indiana University Northwest for a Communications Week seminar on Exploring Performance, Mass Media, Public Relations, and Rhetoric for the New Millennium. Sponsored by the department of communications, representatives from area universities and agencies will be on hand at IU Northwest during the week of April 19 to discuss various aspects of using communication methods as tools for success. The seminar schedule includes:
Thursday, April 22 from 1 to 2:15 p.m. in Hawthorn Hall, Room 219 Marketing and Public Relations with Diana Cook, South Lake Center for Mental Health and Tri City Community Health Center speaking on Promoting Mental Health in the 90s; Dantrel Van Robinson, City of Gary speaking on Integrating Technology in Marketing Communication; Ann Robinson, Indiana University Northwest speaking on Community Relations is More Than Attending Lunches; and Roxane M. Geraci, Indiana University Northwest speaking on Spreading the News: Using Communication Tools for Proactive Public Relations. Thursday, April 22 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at the Library Conference Center Public Relations in the Academy with Dr. Bonita Neff, Valparaiso University speaking on Public Relations Its in Your Future and Dr. Dorothy Ige, Indiana University Northwest speaking on Increasing Public Relations Through Campus Television and Service Learning. Other highlights include a student showcase: Student Research in Mass Media and the Indiana University Northwest student Speech Forum.
