Two Indiana University Northwest students were recently awarded scholarships through the Division the Nursing.

Edlizena Miller of Gary is the recipient of the Julie Elaine Rothenberg Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship established in memory of Julie Rothenberg after her death resulting from an automobile/train accident. Her sister, Lisa was a senior in the IU Northwest BSN program at the time of the accident. Miller is currently a sophomore in the BSN program.

Receiving the Shirley Langel Scholarship is Donna Burgess of East Chicago who is in the RN/BSN Completion program and will be graduating this spring. The Shirley Langel Scholarship Endowment Fund was established by Langel’s  family after her death in 1989. She was a secretary/recorder for the IU Northwest nursing program for over 20 years and was known as a “an advocate for the students.”
