SPEA Awarded $10,000 For Lecture SeriesDesigned to bring nationally prominent figures to the IU Northwest campus on an annual basis, the lecture will address health care policy and/or the delivery of health services. The lecture is named for William Schenck in recognition of his many contributions to health care management, policy and education in Northwest Indiana for over 40 years, says Joseph Pellicciotti, director of IU Northwest's SPEA. "We are very excited about it," adds Pellicciotti. "We see ourselves as a leader in health care services administration and education at IUN and this is a positive way to focus attention on important issues concerning health policy and services." Schenck, who is on the board of directors at Munster Community Hospital and also serves as a lecturer in public and environmental affairs emeritus, says he is very pleased about the opportunity to bring in national figures for the lecture. "It's just not for the campus community, but for the entire community," he adds. The first lecture is being planned for later this year. |
