Celestial Observations Discussed by Adler Astronomer
Celestial observations made by ancient and pre-industrial societies will be discussed by Phyllis Petluga, Adler Planetarium senior astronomer, at Indiana University Northwest on Nov. 11 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Raintree Hall, Room 223.

Petluga will speak on the different culturally defined realities when looking at the sky. She will also give examples of how astronomers have tried to reconstruct the astronomical efforts of ancient people from Peru, Babylon, Egypt, Mexico, Polynesia, China, Mesolithic Europe and Native North America.
