Raiders of the Lost Archives: Preserving Local Cultural Histories, will be discussed by Steve McShane, archivist and curator of the Calumet Regional Archives at Indiana University Northwest on Nov. 5 from to 7 p.m. in the university’s Library Conference Center, 134 W. 35th Ave..

During the presentation, McShane will talk about the history of the region’s ethnic groups, business and labor, environmentalism, politics, women’s groups and community organizations. He will also speak on materials available in the archives, their preservation and how to access them. 

Sponsored by the IU Northwest Anthropology and Sociology Clubs, the lecture is open to the community free of charge. Refreshments will be served.
