| Take an active
role in your education by taking advantage of one of
our programs this year: Supplemental Instruction, The
Peer Network, or the REACH Program.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is
a program offered in traditionally challenging courses.
SI discussion and review sessions are facilitated by
trained student SI Leaders who have already completed
the course and received an A.
Designed to supplement – not replace – class lectures,
SI sessions are interactive and collaborative. Students
who attend sessions learn to integrate how to learn with what
to learn.
The Peer Network program is geared toward first-year
students at IU Northwest but is open to all interested
students. Participants are paired with a trained peer
mentor and meet one-on-one with their mentor. Learn
the ins and outs of being a college student.
Offered in partnership with IVY Tech State College,
the REACH program prepares students
for the demands of university course work. After completing
the requirements, students will be admitted to IU Northwest.
If you're interested in becoming an SI leader or a
peer mentor, we are now taking applications. For more
