On Monday, March 3, the School of Nursing at the Indiana University Northwest
College of Health and Human Services will host a reception for its nursing
alumni in its new facilities at the Dunes Medical/Professional Building. The

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, in recognition of the American Heart Association's “Go
Red for Women” awareness campaign for heart disease, the Indiana University
Northwest College of Health and Human Services will host nationally renowned
obesity expert Dr. Robert Kushner, M.D., for a frank and entertaining discussion
about how women can take control of their health and ward off the nation's deadliest

former chair of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights
On Thursday, Feb. 28, Indiana University Northwest will
welcome Mary Frances Berry, Ph.D., former chair of the U.S. Commission
on Civil Rights, to campus as part of the university's annual Black
History Month celebration. This free program will begin at 6 p.m.
in the Savannah Center Auditorium, located in the Savannah Center
at the southeast corner of the main campus parking lot at 33rd

IU Northwest to host honoring former Gary mayor Richard Hatcher's
historic election
On Friday, Feb. 22, beginning at 9 a.m., Indiana University Northwest will host
a civic forum in commemoration of two historic 1967 elections. That year, mayoral
candidates Carl Stokes of Cleveland, Ohio, and Richard Hatcher of Gary, Ind.,
made history by becoming the first two African-Americans elected as mayors of
