High School Level Services

The Mentor Program operates within the Gary, Indiana High Schools. It specifically targets the Gary JROTC program. The mentor program serves approximately 850 JROTC students. The program also provides scholarships to the top level JROTC cadets.

In addition, the program provides tutorial assistance by placing Senior ROTC cadets in Junior ROTC classrooms. The Senior cadets assist the Junior cadets in all areas of subject matter. The Senior cadets also assist the SAI's with certain classroom duties and non-tactical training. The Senior cadets who serve in the program are called Mentors.

Moreover, the Mentor Program provides services and activities that allow JROTC cadets to prepare for a collegiate curriculum and environment. Some of the activities include a SAT preparatory program, computer skills enhancement programs, financial aide seminars, and time management training.
