The Mentor Program requires and provides ROTC training up until the MS II level. The MSIII and IV levels are provided but not required. The Mentor Program, provides jobs as Mentors (tutors) to all full-time students, sophomore and above, who are enrolled in Senior ROTC and maintain an accumulative 2.5 (4.0scale) grade point average. Mentors work in the Gary high school on an average of 15 hours per week, at a rate of $6.25 per hour.

The Mentor Program also provides on campus support for senior ROTC cadets such as the use of computer labs, tutoring from campus personnel, financial aide assistance (for those personnel who are not on scholarship) and access to all Indiana University facilities and faculty.
