About The Mentor Program Mentor ProgramThe Mentor Program is a tutorial program designed to increase the number of inner city high school students who will pursue a college education. Mentor ResponsibilitiesMentors will act as tutors, camp trainers, team coaches and role models for all youth involved in the program. ROTC and Army ObligationsMentors must take introductory ROTC courses, which are free of charge. But you are not required to be a full-time ROTC cadet and you do not have to join the Army to be a mentor. Pay and Work HoursMentors will work up to 20 hours per week. The pay rate is $6.25 per hour. Weekend and summer work is not required. However, mentors who do participate in any extra activity will be paid for their time. You must fill out a pink time sheet in order to receive your paycheck. Time sheets are due in the office the Monday after payday before 12:00 p.m. You are expected to work the schedule given for the entire semester. If you must be absent from work, call 980-7110 one hour prior to your scheduled work time. Academic RequirementsMentors are required to be full-time college students with a 2.5 GPA or higher.
