Attendance
  1. Attendance is considered mandatory.
  2. Attendance will be taken at the beginning of each class. If you are late, it is your responsibility to have your attendance properly recorded.
  3. If you have a documented legitimate reason for missing class, see the instructor for getting credit for the class you missed.
  4. Please, do not ask for credit for a particular class at a later date.
Homework
  1. Homework assignments are shown on the instructor's website. Homework is an important part of this course. A student's success in this class will be closely tied to keeping current with the homework assignments and fully understanding their solution. A student is encouraged to work supplementary problems, if necessary, until the student feels totally comfortable with the material.
  2. If you are experiencing difficulty with any of the problems, you are encouraged to get help from the instructor during his office hours. You are also encouraged to seek help from the tutors in the math lab.
  3. At the beginning of each period, the homework assignment pertaining to the previous class will be discussed.
  4. You should plan to spend 2-3 hours for each class period reading the lesson, studying your notes, and doing the assigned homework.
Quizzes
  1. There will be six quizzes as indicated in the class schedule.
  2. Each quiz will consist of three to five problems from the recent homework assignments and problems discussed in class.
  3. There will be no makeup quizzes unless in case of emergency and the student has documented evidence.
  4. The lowest two quiz scores will be dropped.
Midterm Exam
  1. There midterm exam will cover the material in chapters 7, and 8.
  2. There will be no makeup exam unless the student has received authorization from the instructor prior to the exam.
Final Exam
  1. The final exam will cover the material in chapters 2, 3, 4, and 10..
  2. The exam will be given on Wednesday, December 10. Each student is required to take the exam at the appointed time.
Automatic Withdrawal
The automatic withdrawal deadline for this course is October 31.
